Welcome!

The Sebasticook Chapter of NAVHDA is based in Smithfield, in central Maine, near the Belgrade Lakes Region. We are proud to be the first NAVHDA chapter to own our own Versatile Place training grounds. We welcome NAVHDA members throughout the New England region as well as in Canada. We are sanctioned as part of NAVHDA International and hold various training clinics, tests and other fun events throughout the year. Our goal is to provide an outlet for versatile gun dog owners to learn to train their own hunting dogs to the best of their potential in the field as well as in the home. Well-trained versatile dogs conserve game by avoiding waste from wounded and lost birds. Careful and thoughtful breeding discourage uncontrolled breeding, which produces unwanted and uncared for dogs.

In 2025, we are excited to be celebrating our 25th year as a chapter!
